Referrals
Dr Mackintosh accepts referrals from GPs, rheumatologists and other specialists for the assessment and ongoing management of interstitial lung disease, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, familial pulmonary fibrosis, telomere biology disorders and other complex respiratory conditions. Telehealth appointments
Interstitial lung disease can be successfully diagnosed and managed via telehealth in many cases, drawing on HRCT imaging and pulmonary function tests performed locally alongside specialist review by videoconference or phone. This allows patients across Queensland, including those in rural and remote areas, to access subspecialist ILD care without the burden of travelling to Brisbane for every appointment.

Telehealth consultations
Available for both new and follow-up patients across Queensland, particularly suited to patients in rural and remote areas or those with an established diagnosis requiring ongoing monitoring.
Telehealth referrals are made in the same way as in-person referrals — contact Wallace Street Specialist Centre to arrange, noting a preference for telehealth on the referral.
What to include in a referral

| Medications | Current medications, including any prior immunosuppression or antifibrotic therapy |
